Invincible Summer (Mauve)
Acrylic paint on canvas, thrifted wood frame
"In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer." - Camus
This piece was inspired by the jolt of bright purple blooms I found and latched onto in a snowy, dreary, January week. I was moved to try a looser, more layered style to capture the fluffy petals and overall jumble of purple and green of these asters or seaside daisies. The stunning frame is painted mauve to coordinate with the overall color scheme, and has a 2.5 inch depth so really makes an impact in any room. While this piece was created in a dreary wintry moment, it hearkens to more colorful warmer days and also the reminder you can create the warmth yourself whenever you need to.
